About: We moved to Comox a few years back and feel fortunate to live by the sea yet still have easy access to nordic skiing in the winter. In the summer months not only do I teach but I make a point of open water swimming daily. I am passionate about art making, teaching, skiing, swimming and gardening. When we travel I am inspired and humbled by the vast breadth of creativity and skill on show at both small independent and international galleries. I am a parent to two lovely people who are both in post secondary studies.
Teaching Experience: I have been teaching visual art professionally for more than 28 years with students ranging from six years through adult learners. I taught in the public school system as a Visual Arts Specialist for grades 4 to 12 and on occasion have taught art programs to adults through Community Education programs. Today, I continue teaching youth on contract with Comox Recreation. I have all the fun without having to write hundreds of report cards every year!
Accreditation: Bachelor of Education in Visual Art (B. Ed), University of Calgary , Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Alberta University of the Arts. Teaching Certification, current Standard First Aid (2023) and RCMP Vulnerable Sector Check (2023). Completion of Master Level classes in Adult Curriculum Development and Art Therapy (U of C).
